Information is one of the most valuable assets a company has. And data privacy is all about keeping your data safe and private. Today we will answer your questions and talk about how you can manage your privacy settings with ANY.RUN. 

All companies need to be aware of how their data is being stored and used by any service. And organizations have to be careful of what they share. That’s why we’ve decided to tell you how ANY.RUN is taking care of your confidential information. 

Servers

The server location has a considerable meaning for data protection. The country where the server is situated regulates the protection of information with its individual laws.

ANY.RUN’s servers are located in Germany. Since this country has one of the leading data protection laws worldwide, you are on the safe side at ANY.RUN. Moreover, our provider has a special certificate ISO 27001, an international standard on how to manage information security. 

The servers are up-to-date and constantly updated, both in hardware and software terms.

Privacy settings 

When you start analysis in ANY.RUN, you are in charge of the privacy level. There are 3 options for you to choose who gets access to your submission:

1. Public. Your sample will be uploaded publicly.
2. Who has a link. Provide access to your tasks by a link to not registered users:  working in a team, you can give access to your analysis to your colleagues who are not registered on our service by setting up privacy “available by the link”.
3. Only me. Keep your task private. Only you will have access to the submission.

If you use the Team management feature, be attentive enough. For example, you acquired 5 licenses for your team. You work together on one task, share the work history, etc. However, when you share the sample with the “available by the link” variant, it means whoever has the link we’ll see the task. So keep in mind that you need to avoid any confidential data exposure. 

Do not share the link to your task in public resources. With Who has a link option your sample will be available for everyone. 

Stored data 

ANY.RUN collects and stores a massive amount of information. What types of data are processed in the service? It depends only on your analysis. Whatever information you upload, this very data is stored. 

There is a possibility to delete tasks. Your data’s privacy is of the highest priority for us, and you can choose automatic deletion of your submissions in 2 weeks while creating a new task. The information will be stored on our servers till the moment you delete it. 

We do not collect any information on purpose at all. ANY.RUN stores only what you have uploaded. In the exact form, you have given, completely unchanged. 

The service also doesn’t transfer any private data to anyone. Third parties are not involved. You can take a look at our Privacy policy to get more information about this topic. 

We mentioned the situation outside, but what happens within our company? Our strict internal procedure prevents any employee or administrator from gaining access to the user data. Limited exceptions can be made for customer support. All our employees sign a Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement when joining the company to protect our customers’ sensitive information.
